Like many shooters, whether competitors, training junkies, professionals, or casual, I've worn a variety of "tactical" style pants going all the way back to military BDUs I got at the Army Surplus store I worked at in college. Also like many shooters, I've begun to get a bit dismayed as the price of my "shooting" pants creep north of $50 and upwards towards $60. As such I was happy to stumble upon the Propper line of Tactical Pants and Shorts while in fact looking to go back to basics and pick up some plain rip-stop cotton BDU pants for range trips. I purchased one each of the Tactical Short and the Lightweight Tactical Pant to try out. Weather in Southeast Florida rarely gets to the point that we need to get past anything other than a lightweight pant, but Propper does make a standard weight Tactical Trouser as well.
