Anvil Arms Rock River Arms 9mm Short Barrel Rifle

In October of 2007 I contacted Jon Kruger at Anvil Arms in Lakeland Florida regarding the possibility of purchasing a registered short barrel rifle (SBR) receiver from him to build into a 10.5" barrel 9mm AR.  Jon suggested that he could sell me the entire rifle complete and save me a step, and after some discussion of parts and price we came to an agreement.

Subsequently due to errors of various kinds (BATFE lost the check, RRA sent the wrong upper, etc.) I have been waiting rather impatiently to get the rifle in my hands.  Today I was finally able to pick up the rifle at the West Palm Beach gun show.

The rifle is a 10.5" RRA pistol upper on an Anvil Arms registered lower receiver, with a Magpul MIAD grip and a Magpul CTR (commercial) stock.  I will be adding an Aimpoin ML2 and a Daniel Defense M410.0 free float rail, and I have a Yankee Hill Machine 9mm Wraith AD sound suppressor.

I will continue to update this page as I add the various parts and pieces to the rifle.  Below are pictures of the rifle as it was delivered to me.

RRA logo on upper.  RRA is a real pain in the ass about SBRs, and this engraving is just obnoxious.

Laser engraved "Registered SBR" on the lower.

"H" buffer.  Would have preferred a 9mm buffer but I will swap it out with one I have in my parts bin.

Hahn mag block.  This is actually the wrong one, and Anvil needs to send me the right one when they unpack it.
